I hear he evolves into the rare Modon pokemon, favoured by emo and goth trainers.

So tell me, how does one become a programmer without learning binary?

I had quantum physics last year... Things can be amazing here.
Anyway, sleepy still, had a rough night with this stupid heat...

Re: Gotta Catch 'Em All
easy. you start with maybe pascal
After you learned the basics with Pascal or another easy programming language, you start with C/C++/C# or Delphi or kind of^^
you dont need Binary at all ^^
atleast not for most common stuff, binary gets more interesting if you go for network technology.
And since binary is easy as hell.
so^^ that is binary
that is all you need to know and you you have to do math ^_^.
And if you have learned the basics, here i have something for you
So and as soon you understand that source code, you can call yourselfe a "programmer"
as you can see, nothing to do with binary ^^

Program Hello_World;

Yes, Binary is easy. That's rather my point. And I didn't mean you can't code without it, I meant that most methods of learning it would also involve learning binary.

Re: Gotta Catch 'Em All
no, not at all^^
Most common methodes dont need binary for learning programming xD
I learned it over years and didn needed it yet, exept of som networking programs, but well those arent that common to programm^^

- Code:
pad n s = take n (s ++ spaces)
where spaces = ' ':spaces
If you fully understand these two lines, you are on your way to be a good Haskell programmer ^^
Besides, i started with Sinclair Basic in a Timex TC2048 (ZX Spectrum compatible) computer and didn't even know binary by then ^^'

Blah, lucky. I swear, the number of times I had to "learn" binary when studying programming in school... >.<

Re: Gotta Catch 'Em All
lol, binary is not much to learn, just simple math
0+1+2+4+6+16+32+64+128 bam, binary^^

Ishk, fun. The closest we get to that is random people wandering around trying to convert passers-by to Christianity. Sheesh -.-

I'd rather follow the instructions in one of those damned chain letters... Credibility is the same anyway.

Ah yes, chain letters. I love not getting those, an advantage of my email habits...
And I have an advantage as far as bad luck goes: I'm Irish. Well, partially, anyways.
